Professional Pilot Academy
"Aren't you training to ASSURE you are hired by an airline or corporate department? Train with the best to be your best"
The World Trains with Coast

Thank you for your interest in flight training
at Coast Flight Academy!

We use Scenario Based and Multi-Crew Training
Techniques to prepare you for your employment

It’s how we train all of our aviators. This means, from the first time you step foot into an aircraft in our fleet, we’re training you in realistic scenarios, of which, you are likely to encounter as a commercial pilot. Scenario-Based Training is the way that airlines and military have been training their pilots for twenty years, and it wasn’t available to civilians until now. Our Chief Pilot has over 20,000 hours, flying for both the U.S. Air Force and Continental Airlines and is a recognized leader in Scenario-Based Training. At Coast Flight Academy, we train you to fly. Not fly you to train. Because our methodology is based on real world experience, you will fly to over 50 different airports within California, Nevada, and Arizona, including an exercise clearing U.S. Customs across the border into Mexico. You will learn to navigate in some of the most complex and busiest airspaces in the world, such as Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and train in over 25 real world commercial pilot scenarios: from theoretically delivering cargos to Las Vegas, to taking photos for a real estate project.

Advance Learning Environment – Train in an environment
that will make you prepared for the airline

Training in San Diego is, arguably, the best airspace environment to learn to fly. The southern California area contains some of the busiest and most challenging airspaces in the world. Throughout your training, you will become increasingly more comfortable in this very diverse airspace environment. Within an hour flight radius of Coast Flight Academy, there are 2 Class B, 5 Class C, 21 Class D, 3 restricted military zones, and over 70 uncontrolled airports. With that same distance, you will overfly endless miles of coastline to the west and overfly and land at airlields as high as 8,000 ft MSL. In the san Diego flight operations area, we are blessed with beautiful weather the majority of the year. However, the coastal fog layer and diverse weather of California gives us ample opportunity to train IFR in real Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC). Furthermore, your training will take you to places such as Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Lake Tahoe and Mexico.
